Koen Baekelandt


Koen first encountered climbing at the age of eleven and quickly discovered a passion and love for rock climbing. In his teenage years he participated in many competitions and was also a member of the Belgian National Team for several years. Koen has now ticked more than a thousand routes and boulders within the grades 7a - 9a.

Since Koen was fourteen, routesetting in Blueberry Hill in Kortrijk, Belgium, and he continue this passion as a National Route Builder.

In 2019, Koen co-founded Rhino Boulder Gym in Ghent, Belgium. In 2020, they took over the largest climbing hall in Belgium: Climbing Hall Bleau. Today, Koen is more focused on routesetting, personal training, and injury prevention for climbers.
